Where do I start? This was a totally awesome weekend. I am sunburned and stiff from being in my sling chair for three days but no regrets at all!!!!
Friday night is probably my least favorite night of the Festival - and this weekend was no exception. The acts that they had were good - and I did leave the park on Friday night singing "Hey Bo Diddley" with hundreds of other people.
Saturday - totally awesome day - my favorite by far. It was just so good - all the acts were incredible.
Cowboy Crush - sisters - country - just great! When they get their CD finished I will definately buy one - they one they had at the Festival only had two songs on it - so I will wait for the full CD. They are incredibly talented - and cute as bugs!!! (and that IS a compliment - you'd have to be "country" to understand it..hehehe)
Patti Loveless - what a gracious lady! She did a WONDERFUL concert - sounded and looked GREAT - REALLY enjoyed her.
John Michael Montgomery - sigh - just a great talent and he put on quite a show. Loved every minute of it.
And now.......LONESTAR!!!! Got up and got in line to get into the part at 5:50 a.m. and there were already people that had spent the night on the sidewalk and people that had gotten there at 4 and 5 a.m. Got good seats 5th row from the front and oh man - they sang ALL my favorite songs - and I sang along with them! They were AWESOME!!! AND cute besides - I would have been happy to sit and look at them - hehehe - the singing was just an "added attraction". They really "rocked" the park! I had the chance to go backstage and meet them - and like an idiot - I turned it down. My friend Justin works for Charter Communications and he gets to interview the acts and film them. I had asked him if he thought he could get me backstage and he said he would try. Then I got to thinking that I didn't want to take advantage of "knowing Justin" - after all, just having him as a friend is great - so I told him not to worry about it and just go do his job and I would be happy just to sit and listen to them. THE BEST NIGHT BY FAR!!
Sunday brought us Jenna Crispin - a 14 year old from Branson, MO. Very talented young lady - obviously a 14 year old but she is definately on her way up. I say by the time she is 20 she will have several hit records under her belt if she pursues this.
Shooter Jennings - Waylon's son - the renegade - he has quite a following. He was okay - just not my favorite.
Darrell Worley - sigh - another cutie and did a wonderful job - loved his songs - sang along with most of them.
Trace Adkins - sigh - I'd love to "run my fingers through his hair" hehehe. He has that deep, throaty voice that needs candles, wine and a semi-dark room.....sigh.
And now - it's over - I have to wait another year to go back and sit and enjoy.
Peace
