JUST ANOTHER THURSDAY

Ah......the day after the storm - everything looks so clean and it is definately a little cooler.  Front page of the local paper shows many large trees down from the storm we had last night.  It was an impresive storm.

I am looking forward to my weekend at DW now - the temps are down - I feel much better AND we are staying for 2 nights in a motel - a mini vacation if you will.  Ryan is excited about it - I wish we could take the dogs, but it would totally "freak them out" - they will be much happier at home.  I will miss them sooooo much.

Betsy the finch was all "hunkered down" in the cage again last night and I thought there would be another egg this morning, but there are still just 3 and she is "right as rain" today.  She was plucked out most of her feather on either side of her chest and they are "arranged" around the eggs - so she must be pretty intent on hatching these eggs.  All three birds take turns on the nest now.  I think Barbara has one egg in the nest and Betsy two.  Barbara is larger and there is one large white egg in the nest and two smaller beige eggs that I think are Betsy's.  IF these eggs hatch - that will be it for me.  I'll just remove any more eggs that they lay.  I DON'T want a cage FULL of finches but it would be nice to see at least one baby hatch and grow up.

Okay - have a wonderful day and peace to you!
