ANOTHER DAY AT WORK

Hmmmmm.....London had 3 of its' "tubes" evacuated today and there was a minor explosion on a bus - two weeks to the day of the tragedy they had before - this time - no fatalites have been reported - thank you God.

What a crazy world we are living in now.

When I was a kid in the 50's, nothing like this ever happened.  The world seemed so much SAFER back then.  I remember getting on my bike when we lived on Galveston Island, Texas, and going down to the beach which was about 4 blocks away and riding up and down in the surf all by myself - I was 8, 9 and 10 years old then - you couldn't let a little girl do that nowadays - just not safe.  The kids of today have missed out on the simple pleasures we had as children growing up in the 50's.  Remember Halloween and how much fun it was to go with a group blocks and blocks away from your own neightborhood - and home-made treats were the BEST - cookies, candy, cupcakes, popcorn balls, apples.....yum!  My father loved Halloween.  He was an executive chef and always ordered 3 HUGE boxes of yellow delicious apples and he would sit on our front porch and hand those applies out until they were gone.  And he didn't care if a kid came back more than once.  Kids today have to have their treats "inspected" before they can enjoy them, and usually only go to homes of people that the family knows.   What a shame it has come to this.

Oh well - I can't change any of that.  I only wish for the children of tomorrow that they can enjoy some of the simple pleasures that I had as a child.  God willing - they will.

Peace - and love
