I HAVE FOUR (COUNT 'EM) FOUR DAYS OFF!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Oh happy times!!! I have a four day weekend AND next weekend I have ANOTHER four day weekend for new year's.  HOORAY, HOORAY, OH HAPPY HAPPY DAY!!

Can you tell I'm tired and really need the time off???  Well I am and I do and this morning was my first day off and I stayed in bed until 11:00 a.m. - oh it felt sooooo good just to know I could lay in the bed and not have to be anywhere.  yum.

When I finally became cohearant, we decided to start our movie marathon weekend today, so Ryan and I went with my friend Annette to see "The Family Stone" - a really great movie, but it turned out to be a real tear jerker and we thought from the previews that it would just be a straight comedy.  Oh well.

Tomorrow the marathon continues with "Fun With Dick and Jane" and "Cheaper by the Dozen 2" - both of these are just comedies.

And God, please keep me out of Wal-mart tomorrow - we went there today because I had forgotten to get my yarn (I'm going to knit some this weekend) and it was an absolute ZOO - and the traffic!?!?!?! I said prayers all the way there and all the way home that we wouldn't have an accident - people EVERYWHERE and some driving like they were the ONLY ones on the road - WHEW!  I was so glad to get home and "park it".

Talked to my friend Margaret today - she is in NC with her family for the weekend - returning to PA on Tuesday.    Love that woman!!!

Christmas day we will eat a "brunch" with Annette and then continue our marathon by going to see "Narnia" - I am really looking forward to see that - the previews were awesome and the story is soooooo good.

Anyway - to everyone who visits my humble site here - I wish for you the happiest of holidays - no matter which one you celebrate - and much happiness in 2006.

Peace on earth - good will to all.

WHAT A WEEK - WHAT A WEEKEND!

What a week last week was - but what a great weekend we had!  My theatre group, 3D Mystery Shows had its' annual Christmas party for all the actors/actresses and their families.  We had a HUGH cabin in the moutains - 3 levels - 5 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths, hot tub, game room, fireplace - oh it was lovely (and free!).  We had a blast.  3D provided the food, Justin provided the cabin through some contacts he had, and we just had a wonderful time!  I learned how to play Texas Hold'em Poker (we just played with chips) and I did pretty good.  We placed until the early morning hours on Saturday, crashed, slept in, got up, ate breakfast, played some more poker and then it was off to Dollywood to see the shows and lights.  Had a great time - back to the cabin for more poker, then Sunday we just "chilled out", talked, played games, etc.  Some had to leave early for home, but the ones of us who stayed went to the "pavillion" which was on the top of a mountain!  The view was awesome.  I did take a whole roll of pictures of the weekend which I will get developed today and post sometime this week.  I really needed this weekend.  It was a time to forget about problems, not worry about money (or the lack thereof) and just have fun with wonderful friends.

More on this later.

Peace

WHAT A WONDERFUL FRIDAY!

Well - the journal is up to its old tricks of not wanting to save my posts so I'm going to try this one.

Last night we went to see the Louise Mandrell show in Pigeon Forge.  They are doing their Christmas show and Ashley and Jill, our friends who are in the show gave us two "comp" tickets and we went - what a wonderful night.

Ryan had gotten all his "girls", Ashley, Jill, Jennifer, Turner and of course, Louise, a little gift for Christmas and some flowers for all of them.  He was so proud to send them back stage when we went to pick up our tickets.

We ate at the Alabama Grill, right next door to Louise's theatre.  The food there is good, but we both tried something new and it wasn't nearly as good as we thought it would be, so dinner was a little disappointing.

Found our seats, center section about 9 rows from the front - awesome seats - and the theatre was FULL.

After the show, all the girls came out and surprised Ryan with a gift from them to him!  They gave him a picture of the four of them in their Christmas costumes that they had taken just for him - an "orignal" if you please, AND a DVD of the show (which I had almost ordered) AND a gift card to TGI Fridays which he LOVES to eat at, and THEN - just to top off the night, Louise herself came out and personally thanked him for her gift and flowers, and game him a big hug.  He reminded her of when her birthday was then they exchanged "high fives" and another hug.

Then the girls gave Ryan their hugs and I got mine too, and then we started home, with a promise to stay in touch after Louise's show closes down on the 31st.  I will miss this show so much.  Ryan talked all the way home about his picture, his DVD and went over all the shows they girls had been in and all the songs they had sung.

Today I spent most of the day in bed - coming down with a bad cold I'm afraid.  Have to teach CCD tomorrow - hope I feel better.

Peace
